What should I call them? (a little racey)

I took the kids to Terra Toys today (best toy store around, in my opinion) & they played for an hour...we had to get some gifts...they always play at least that long. Anyway, that's not the point... So, Adly's favorite toy is always a baby. She picked up a very cute baby and put it in a stroller and rolled it around the store for a while. After a bit she decided it needed a diaper change (she always removes doll's clothes for some reason). So, she laid it on a little ironing board to change it and Holt was standing there w/ her. She's just doing her thing and I help her take of the clothes then she removes the diaper. I then realize very quickly that it is a BOY! Yes, anatomically correct, boy. She doesn't say a thing, Holt looks at it and I say "Oh, look it's a little boy baby." Holt could care less that it has a penis! Adly says "I like boy babies." & then puts him in the stroller. We headed towards the trains section of the store and as she's pushing the stroller I see her flick "it" and says "Mommy, he has a weenie.", very loudly. I tried not to laugh and one mom looked at me and smiled. I just said, "Oh, yes, he does." She didn't mind and never said a word about it after that.

I got to thinking, when Holt noticed his, I very clearly and matter of fact said "yes, that is your penis." and that is what he called it. Well, now he's older and we've discussed that there are many names people use for it. He knows that the real name is penis, but he's decided to call it a "weenie". Whatever, fine by me, as long as he knows the real word. So, when Adly noticed that Holt was "different" than her, I told her it was his penis, but I cringed. So, I started calling it a weenie to her. Why? That is so silly, but it just sounds more innocent right now to hear her say "weenie"! By the way, she does know her's is a vagina, but we call it her "toot toot" most of the time! What should I call them?!!

  1. I just call it a "pee pee" because that's what my mom called ours. I should probably teach him the real name, but I have this fear he will start saying it in stores or something! Sean won't even let me teach him the word "breasts", we call it my "chest". hahaha.

  2. My nephews was always a wizard! I think he was trying to say ‘lizard’, though (which I guess really isn’t any better), but it just always came out wizard!
