The Magic Treehouse...

My friend, Brooke and I read these books to our first graders every year. We and they loved them...she actually bought a lot of them, thank goodness b/c now we are using them (thanks, Miss Brooke). They are Holt's first chapter books. The books are blended text; mostly fiction w/ some non-fiction mixed in. He absolutely loves them...pretends he is the boy in the book!

It's amazing to see him so entranced in the words I'm reading w/ a visual here and there. You can see his little mind working as he asks lots of questions during the book (what's new?). He never wants me to stop reading. We have to set a chapter to stop on each time. It's just another thing for he and I to do together. I love being curled up w/ my little man and our book!! We're about to start #12!!!
