I really don't like to be an ugly mommy, but sometimes I feel like I have to be. Our "Adly & Holt become friends" game has been working, but sometimes it does NOT!! Adly and I picked Holt up from Mad Science camp (which he loves) and it started right when we got in the car...."don't look at me, don't sing that, don't point at me, I don't want to play that, etc...." Ugh!!
I ignored as much as I could and reminded about the game, but then we got home and the nit picking continued.
As we were eating lunch together, it kept on. I moved the people on the game back 2 spaces!! I was so tired of it I said "that's it, there is no talking at the table today...if you talk, you are done. No one has anything nice to say so don't say anything at all." Holt started to say something w/ a crying voice and I put out my hand to have his plate. He pretended to zip his lip and we continued w/ our quiet lunch.
After lunch they seemed refreshed. They played a game together....I moved the people up. They hugged for Adly's nap...which she is now NOT taking...playing w/ her Mickey Mouse in her bed instead! Guess Missy will have an early date night w/ that lady! I'm off to get her up and hopefully have some actual nice play w/ these two.
Root for more advances for the Holt & Adly game piece!!!
M does that after school sometimes, I think they get overtired and take it out on their siblings. A & J will be so tough!! She has stopped taking a nap already? I am not ready for that yet! Luv your blog.
