Thanks, Ruby...

I decided to keep Holt home from school one more day b/c he complained of a headache last night and my mommy instinct was telling me one more day would be good.  Also b/c he and I were up at 4 am!!  My d*^n smoke alarms were chirping b/c of a bad battery.  My husband was out of town so it was little old me to get out the huge ladder from the garage (pretty sure I scraped up the walls a few places), climb up to each one and change the battery.  After changing 4 of them and they were still chirping, I called my dad.  It was almost 5 am by now!!  ugh!!  He came right over and decided we needed to try all new batteries again.  So, he went to the store and got all new 9V's.  Then replaced them all.  Thank God for dads!
So after all of that (Adly slept through it all of course!), I decided to keep Holt home.  I guess it was the right decision...but, he's been driving me crazy!  Love the little man, but wow, Kindergarten is a nice way for a 6 year old to spend his day!
After finagling getting Adly to dance, pick up and getting Freddie from the groomers, I was a little frazzled.  Waking up at 4am w/ screaming alarms all over your house can do that to you, I guess.
Anyway, I think Adly could tell I was feeling overwhelmed.  I sat down at the table w/ she and Holt to have lunch and she leaned over, putting her hand on mine and said "You're gorgeous.", w/ her big, twinkling eyes and a sweet smile.  She made my day... & I'm pretty sure she got those words from none other than her very favorite tv character...Ruby (Max & Ruby).
