The past week...

I brought these HOMEMADE sugar cookies w/ HOMEMADE icing to Holt's class for his school birthday!  He requested green icing w/ a green "6".  His design...hilarious!
 Birthday boy at his table.
This little lady was especially excited to get to share in the birthday snack w/ the Kinder class!  There are so many advantages to being the second kid.  She always knows exactly where she's headed next!
Look at her fitting right in!
Dentist time...& a perfect check up, thank you!
Holt's favorite part of the dentist...
Our sweet babysitter, Kayla, gave Holt a cool lego car for his birthday.  They LOVE Kayla!  (He looks like he belongs in their family.)
Holt got to pick a book to donate to his school library for his birthday!  Here's what he picked...
I think this is so special...
Here's how we sleep in...  Well, if you consider 7 or so sleeping in!  This little note means that if Adly's clock has these numbers on it, she can turn on her light and play.  She used to wake up no earlier than 7.  Now that Holt has to get up at 6:30 (He's usually out of his bed playing by 6:20!...early riser!!), she hears us and that wakes her.  Now her usual wake time is around 6:30-7.  Guess that'll make it easier for Kindergarten!  At least they go to bed no later than 7:30!!
But, this so works...& how cute is this little Hello Kitty clock?  I block out the last number b/c that's too many for a little 3 year old to look at.  It's the same thing we did for Holt when he was 3.  It kept him from leaving his room, allowed for independent play (which he pretty much only does in the morning) and gave us a little extra morning time!!  By the way, if I haven't said this before...Adly is the BEST independent player ever!  But, this helps on days when she decides to be an early riser herself!  :)
Such disappointment...Holt was supposed to have his hockey game/sleepover w/ his 4 best buds this Saturday.  Unfortunately, he got Strep!  Poor guy!  These were part of the balloons for his party.  At least he'll get to have them again at his party next Saturday!  But, boy was he ticked!!!  Now we just have to pray for no sicknesses for any of the other kids...maybe we should just keep them all in a bubble until Saturday.  In the meantime, Amoxicillin is doing it's job!

  1. I wish a clock like that worked for an 18 month old. Trent used to sleep until 7:00 like clockwork (pun intended). Now, it's 6:15. No matter what time we put him down. But obviously if we put him down at 8:00, he's super fussy all day. So he goes to bed usually between 7:00 and 7:30 (I try for closer to 7). And sure enough, 6:15 he's fussing. I can't wait to teach him that trick and independent play...what a dream. :)

On another note, thanks for the car seat recommendation. I have looked at that online and I LOVE that it turns into a booster next! That'll save us from having to buy a separate one (duh).
