I LOVE my nephews...

I know I've said that before, and I have lots of other things to blog about right now and no picture really for this one, but just had to say, I LOVE them!  I went over this evening after putting my babies down for the night (so nice to have them, literally, 2 minutes away) and hugged them as much as Missy would let me during their night-night routine.  I think I kissed them a million times.  Maybe a few more for Rex b/c I wasn't allowed to pick Ren up for long (the spit up thing).  I even witnessed Davey reading the bedtime stories to them.  PRECIOUS!  Again, just had to say, I LOVE my nephews.  I had no idea it would be this wonderful.  xoxoxo Ren & Rex!

Adly's Adventures...

I updated you all on Holt's Happenings, now it's time for sweet Adly Jewell...
Here she is eating one of her favorites...snow cones!  (We have a snow cone maker and it is sooo fun! I think it was $20-$30 about 2 summers ago.  Diana, have you used yours yet!!?)
p.s.  Like the BIG pink flower?  It's a sneak peek of her dance recital attire.
She's been really into the bars lately.  Monkey bars too.  She can pull her legs up and flip over...by herself!  Also, she's very big into dressing herself...hence the Cowboy cheerleader uniform and pink socks.

Here is she is wearing a flower girl dress from MY wedding!!  It was Davey's little sisters and for some reason, I still have it.  Sweet, huh?  She LOVES it!

One of her favorite places...her Jess' house!
Adly had her 4 year well check last Thursday.  A little later than I usually schedule them, but I was dreading it.  Seriously, dreading it.  4 years is the one where they get 4 vaccines!!  So, we talked and talked about it.  I wanted her to know exactly what was going to happen at the end of the visit.  (I did not tell Holt any of this when it was his 4 year check.  He would have freaked.  Totally different personalities.)  So, every time she would say, "Mommy, I know.  It's okay.  It'll be quick."  I would tell her, "but, it's okay if you cry.  It doesn't mean your aren't big."  She would say, "I know, if it hurts, I might cry."
So, we had the appt. and it went super.  Adly weighs in at the 42% and her height is in the 92%.
Then, the shot lady came in.  She had the little syringes on the plate, put her gloves on and asked Adly to sit up on the table.  At this point I had given her a sucker to ease some anxiety, which there was none on her part, but I felt like I was sweating!!  She gets up on the table, lays down and takes ALL of them like a big girl!!  Not a tear..."not a single tear", as she says it.  We were in shock!  Nurses came in and kept saying, "You are so big.  This never happens."  We left there w/ tiny sore legs, stickers and no tears!  Amazing!!!
She knows now that it won't be until she's 11 when she gets another one of those.  Until then she'll be happy w/ her Barbie's bed she picked out at Toys R Us!!

Easter Celebrations...

Happy Easter, everyone!  We celebrated all weekend.  It was so nice to be w/ family so much.  We went w/ Mimi, Biggin' & Dakota & Missy, Davey & the boys, to the Oasis.  FUN!  That place never disappoints!
A little baseball at the farm...
Ridin' in the Ranger w/ cousins...
 Farm girl (sort of)
 Then the egg hunt...
 the collection...
p.s.  Holt didn't really hunt, he decided to hide w/ the big boys this time.  He's growing up!

One of our favorite Easter activities!!

 pretty...
 So excited!!
Does my son ever have pants on around the house?!
Just me and one of my babies...(Rex)
Dear, Ren  I have a cute pic of you, but your Mimi wouldn't like the pic of her, so I didn't post it.  But, I love you the same...tons!!!!!
 More egg hunting...

Caught in action...watching kids hunt eggs is so sweet.
 The loot...

p.s.  We got dressed up and went to church.  However, very unfortunately, we didn't get in.  Even being 25 minutes early, we didn't make it.  No seats...even in the flow over room.  We were sad, but came home and celebrated w/ family.  We've talked about the ressurection a lot w/ our kids, but it just seemed like we needed that service.  In the middle of the day we stopped to read our Ressurection Eggs (have these? they are great.).  Even though we'd spoke about it before, today was the day and it was great to share that w/ our kids.  Holt doesn't love to hear it though, it bothers him.  & Adly usually cries, not a big cry, but a sympathetic cry...such a tender heart.  But, it's so important.  We talk a lot afterwards and it's always good.  Hope you had a wonderful and meaningful Easter w/ your family!  We have so much to be thankful for.

Holt Happenings...

It's all about t-ball for this kid right now.  Doesn't he look cute as a girl?  This was on the way to a game.
 baseball ready...anticipate
some of the little fans...they were filthy afterwards!!!
Look closely...Holt has taken up car graffiti.  Seriously!  Are you kidding me?  This is my new Tahoe (well, it's almost a year old, but #@!^).  We practiced calm parenting.  He just shouted out, "I did that.", once we discovered it.  It was innocent, I think.  My car was really dirty (not uncommon) and once it was washed this became clear.  He felt really bad and cried and cried.  I joked w/ him and said everyone would know for sure when his ride pulls up at school now.  He didn't like that!!  We "buffed" it a bit and it's not so bad now.  A memory for sure!
Holt had a playdate w/ sweet Hailee.  We got to pick her up from school and get to do it again tomorrow.  He's a ladies man!
 safe at home
Look who came...his Missy and some tiny baseball fans!

So fun!

I'm gonna post these past couple weeks a little at a time.
I have lots to share...nothing huge, just a lot of kid fun!
We had our sweet friends, Finnley & Scout over for a SLEEPOVER!!
We made pizzas...
Everyone put pineapple on their pizza & most put black olives.  Leave it to Holt to put mushrooms too.  That kid will eat anything!
 Snow Cones!!
Yep, that's me out there.  I got a "cruizin" bike.  It literally says it's for cruising the neighborhood and beach.  Love it!!  Holt's on the Cruizin' Cooler.  We cruise a lot around here.
 Sock bunny craft...
 Movie time...
Only the big kids made these felt carrots.  It involved a little sewing.  Turned out cute, huh?!

We had such a blast w/ the W girls.  They are precious!!!  Can't wait to do it again.

We use the correct word for it!

So, today Adly and Jess sat in the back seat of the car and Freddie sat perched on the center console as we rode home for the dog groomers.  Here's what I hear:
Adly: "Oh, his pwivate pawts awe touching that.  Maybe he needs to go potty."
Jess: "What's a pwivate puwse?"
Adly: "No, pwivate PAWT."
Jess: "What's his pwivate pawt?"
Adly: "You know, his penis."
Jess: "Oh, his wenis?"
Adly: "No, his penis.  That's what boys have."
Jess: "Oh, Adly, penis?"
Me: "Okay, so doesn't Freddie's haircut look so cute? He smells good too!"
Wow!!!! Can you tell I have a son too?!

It's been a while...

While I was gone from blogland, well, not all of blogland, just mine, I did read everyone else's...here's what went on in my life...
My nephews turned 4 months...
One of our sweetest friends turned 6.  We celebrated lucky number 6 w/ Finnley at a Stars Hockey game.  You know we loved that!
I finally uploaded my pictures from our Cameron trip.
I, well, okay, my dad, planted my garden.  This is one of the many reasons I love spring!!
Holt is like an old soul.  I think I've said that before, but, he just is.  He takes it all in like an old man tending his crops.  Dad loves to have him there too.
This tiny lady helped water it.
 & love on Pappy.

Holt was one of the few Kindergartners who got to tape the P.E. teacher to the wall, because he raised enough money for Jump Rope for Heart!  Thanks, family & friends!!
 Not sure what this is...
We went to the K family's annual crawfish boil!
Holt loves to play w/ and eat these guys.
Adly ate em' too...no mud bugs for me!
These two clowns had the best time...they always do!
Adly created some mud art.
Holt's hair is as long as it's ever been.  I really like it, but his daddy wants it cut.  Look how cute it is coming out from under his hat!  (We trimmed it today.)
Sweet, Taytum Amelia came on Sunday, April 3, weighing 5lbs. even.  Taytum is the 3rd of three lovely little ladies who all belong to my very good friend, Mary.  She was also the third completely natural birth for this mommy.  Like John says, "There's just something about Mary."  It's so true!  Isn't she a pretty little lady?
We played w/ Crayola's new colored bubbles.  BIG mistake.  They stain the patio.  Do not recommend these guys.  Wow!  Come on, Crayola!
Painted pretty, little nails w/ blue and sparkles.
Holt & daddy watched the Stars game tonight.  Now that's cute.
Happy to be back at it.  :)
