Adly's Adventures...

I updated you all on Holt's Happenings, now it's time for sweet Adly Jewell...

Here she is eating one of her favorites...snow cones!  (We have a snow cone maker and it is sooo fun! I think it was $20-$30 about 2 summers ago.  Diana, have you used yours yet!!?)

p.s.  Like the BIG pink flower?  It's a sneak peek of her dance recital attire.

 She's been really into the bars lately.  Monkey bars too.  She can pull her legs up and flip over...by herself!  Also, she's very big into dressing herself...hence the Cowboy cheerleader uniform and pink socks.

 Here is she is wearing a flower girl dress from MY wedding!!  It was Davey's little sisters and for some reason, I still have it.  Sweet, huh?  She LOVES it!

 Adly had her 4 year well check last Thursday.  A little later than I usually schedule them, but I was dreading it.  Seriously, dreading it.  4 years is the one where they get 4 vaccines!!  So, we talked and talked about it.  I wanted her to know exactly what was going to happen at the end of the visit.  (I did not tell Holt any of this when it was his 4 year check.  He would have freaked.  Totally different personalities.)  So, every time she would say, "Mommy, I know.  It's okay.  It'll be quick."  I would tell her, "but, it's okay if you cry.  It doesn't mean your aren't big."  She would say, "I know, if it hurts, I might cry." 

So, we had the appt. and it went super.  Adly weighs in at the 42% and her height is in the 92%. 

Then, the shot lady came in.  She had the little syringes on the plate, put her gloves on and asked Adly to sit up on the table.  At this point I had given her a sucker to ease some anxiety, which there was none on her part, but I felt like I was sweating!!  She gets up on the table, lays down and takes ALL of them like a big girl!!  Not a tear..."not a single tear", as she says it.  We were in shock!  Nurses came in and kept saying, "You are so big.  This never happens."  We left there w/ tiny sore legs, stickers and no tears!  Amazing!!!

She knows now that it won't be until she's 11 when she gets another one of those.  Until then she'll be happy w/ her Barbie's bed she picked out at Toys R Us!!
