What a whirlwind life can be...(please excuse the long post)

In so many ways do I mean this. This past week was ridiculously busy and part of it was my doing. There were hello's and good-bye's, tears and laughter...all how it should be...but all happening at the same time wouldn't be my choice. It started w/ the snow and needing that Wednesday to finish my freelance piece, but school canceled even though the roads were clear! Oh, well...that happens.
On w/ the week...I finished my piece late Wednesday night (yay!). Thursday comes...insane errand running and the kids and I attend a good friend's 3rd b-day party while John is at the visitation of his sweet grandmother who left this world early Monday morning. Friday...drop kids off at school, off to see my baby cousin Becky's brand new twins (Holden & Madison) at the hospital (more on this later), then to lunch w/ my husband before heading to the funeral and reception. Friday was a day of roller coaster emotions. I cried in the morning so happy to know that Becky had had her babies healthy and happy, then again when I thought of the circle life does, with a hello and a good-bye all in one day. I balled at Elfrieda's funeral although it was uplifting and inspiring to hear what a wonderful legacy she left w/ her kind heart and beautiful soul. Thanks to my wonderful family my kids were taken care of (thanks, Mom & Missy).
Once home John and I rushed to get Holt ready for his second tee-ball practice and I rushed to get to a city art event I'd been looking forward to w/ my friend Brooke (thanks again, Brooke).

Saturday comes...10:30 hair appointment (yay!), drop Holt off for his 1st sleepover (more on this later...he did so good!!...thanks, Brandie), Mom comes over to take care of Adly (thanks, Mom), John and I head to a Gala (go Chaparral's!!) and have a great time. We even stayed in a hotel (for less than 8 hours, but still!) and got to have breakfast out alone. Holt had tee-ball practice again and then Holt & Daddy were off to a Texas Stars game. So much fun in such little time.
I'm taking a breather and looking forward to the coming week. Thank you to all of my very sweet friends for your support & kind words (& thoughtful "happy" gift, Camie!). Life wouldn't be the same w/o the amazing people we share our day to day lives w/.
Life is short...even when it's busy you have to remember to stop and smell the roses...or those two new babies in my family!!
