DRAMA!!...I turned around and Holt was gone. He was supposed to stay put at the door, but decided to wonder off w/ a friend. After wondering a bit he realized he was not w/ his mommy and decided to try to track back. That didn't work. At that point he found another mother who he said he told "I lost my mom, she left me!" (yeah, right!!) He said she asked where his classroom was and was going to take him there. During this whole time I am frantically trying to find him and asking random people for help...trying not to lose it and thinking some crazy abductor came and took him. It was horrible. A happy moment gone very bad. Once I found him and scolded him more than I should in front of many other parents, I tried to calm myself and take him to his class. Adly did not witness any of this...thank goodness!!!
Holt ended up having a great day and the office called me to tell me so and make sure I was okay. Aside from crying to several people and making my husband leave a meeting to calm me down, I am now fine. Holt and I had a big discussion about staying close at all times. He knows this and this is not something he would normally do, but now that he loves to be w/ friends, I think that swayed him a bit. Honestly, I don't think he'll ever do that again.
After school I picked up Adly first...her teacher's commented "She is the sunshine of our class. She is so happy and sweet all of the time." I can't tell you how happy I was to hear that. It made my day. Holt's day went great too and he actually told Adly he was proud of her and asked what she did today. So glad it ended on a happy note!! Whew!!! Off to buy a leash for my 4.5 year old son!! HA!!
Oh no! I cannot even imagine. But I love hearing your sweet girl was the sunshine of her class. That should make you very proud!
