an update

In May...

Holt finished first grade. Here he is w/ Miss Terrazas.

Pappy turned another year younger! :)

In June so far...

Daddy turned the big 35! (We had Missy's b-day too, but no pics of that one right now.)

Adly had her dance recital. Tap this year!

The rest of June to come. In the meantime I'll be hanging w/ my family & sitting on Pinterest! Seriously, that's the best site for a person like me. It's one of the main reasons I don't update my blog as much any more....b/c Pinterest is out there. I LOVE it!! Do you?

Do you use these? They are so great. Sandwich and snack size. A bit of an investment, around $12 for the set of two. So worth it! I rarely use ziploc baggies anymore.

Lots of memories of Hope!

Today was a happy, but sad day. It was Adly's last day of preschool. Not only that, but it was the last day for her to go to Hope. This wonderful place where kids learn through play and Jesus is spoken about openly daily and teachers are warm and smiles are all around. It's just such a happy place. My kids gained so much from going there. I'm sad for my family to be done with that chapter in their life. It's hard...for me. But, I know it's also a wonderful beginning. She'll be at school w/ her brother next year and that makes me happy. But, my baby is getting big!!

back up to speed...sort of

Adly had her last chapel at Hope. Very big moment...for me! I cannot believe this! Kindergarten is around the corner.

Good Job bucks!!

We needed an incentive program for the boy...bad! So, here's what I came up with. It's working for now. He's totally into it. He loves earning things...if he sees he can work towards something, he's all about it. So, it's all about positive reinforcement right now. Constant...."you turned your light out in your room...good job buck!", "you were sweet to your sister...good job buck!", "you used your manners...good job buck!". Of course we include Adly in this too, even though she really doesn't need it. So, each day they earn a sticker (or not a few times for him). The end result is various prizes...a certain toy, ice cream w/ one of us, outings that they really want to do, etc. We are overly complimentary right now to get them really into it and praise as much as we can. It's been really great lately....hopefully it stays this way!
