Holt's wardrobe...

Just so everyone knows...Holt now dresses himself...totally. By that I mean that he picks everything out from head to toe. This is why he's wearing a purple soccer shirt & black & green shorts...or whatever other silly outfits you see on him. It's hilarious! I used a shower rod to make a lower level in his closet for his shirts. He loves it and supposedly letting them do this sort of thing helps w/ self confidence. I've only had to make him change one time, but that was b/c he wanted to wear his Cowboys jersey w/ his Cars swim shorts...it just didn't work!

Pizza crust dough cookies

That title is a mouth full, but I didn't know what else to call them. We literally rolled out canned pizza dough, sprinkled cinnamon sugar on them and decorated. I had sweetened coconut, mini choc. chips and sprinkles on hand so that's what we used. They loved it and they were delicious!!

Magic Noodles

We played w/ Magic Noodles today! You can get them at any craft store...Hobby Lobby has the best selection. I can't help but join in on the creations too. Mariana made all of our names. Great activity for letter/ word learning too. Both kids love it!

Arboretum Adventures...

We had such a fun time roaming around the grounds of the Arboretum today w/ Mariana, Diana & Jess. We walked along the shady area of the fountains, made some wishes, sat on the stone cows, walked the trail down to the ducks & turtles, ate some Thundercloud (yummm) & walked to Barnes & Noble to "read" around. We had such a great time and the kids were worn out at the end.

Highlights...

*Adly got a Dora book and Holt a Cars coloring book at B & N.

*Both of my kids managed to poop in public during this adventure...not my favorite thing to deal w/ in public restrooms...at least they were clean potties!! note: No high fiber oatmeal for breakfast before a long outing!

*Mariana & Holt found a tiny praying mantis. Holt didn't want to put him down...he literally loved the thing. The praying mantis was really cute...seriously! We left him w/ the cows.

*We saw a HUGE turtle at the pond!

A Fun night w/ Family...

We always have so much fun w/ our "in-laws" (David's family). They came over this afternoon and we played and ate. Adly and Kristian played together most of the time. Holt grilled w/ Davey and "worked" in the garden. It was such a fun evening and I get to share another day w/ Mariana (David's sister) tomorrow! We love you Belinda, Mariana & Kristian...Missy & Davey too!

Oh, and Holt tried chicharrones and loved them!!!

Pebble mosaics turn to real art...

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do w/ our little pebble mosaics...string them together, put them in our garden, etc. We decided to paint them and then hot glue them onto a painted canvas. I think it made for pretty art in our hall bathroom.

Cousin sleepover

We have our nephews over from time to time just because we love them! We always have a blast and it's so cute to watch our kids w/ them. They're all very sweet to Holt and Adly and all play well together. John and I always say that it's even easier here when we have 5 kids instead of just our 2! It's true!! They especially love their "JoJo", Uncle John that is.
