Pool Play...

We had a little girls' playdate w/ Livi & Jess today. We hung at Livi's neighborhood pool and the girls splashed around, ate snacks, played gators & ate more snacks! It was a fun morning.
Thanks, Miss Brooke!

I know...

I change my blog like I change my undies, but I get bored easy. It's like scrapbook paper...there's so much of it and it's fun to change. Thanks for the new blog background website, Kris!

Take me out to the ball game...

Holt w/ his request...PEANUTS! (look at those lips...my favorite trait of Holt's)

Adly & Luchi were their normal, laid back selves...they loved the cotton candy!

Adly thought dipping the hot dog bun in the nacho cheese was "yummmy".

Holt & his Davey.
Massimo & Holt...the wilder side of the game!

We headed to the RR Express for a game w/ Missy & Davey & The Marinari family (Holt's best friend, Massimo). We had a blast! The kids ate all kinds of all-American junk food and we all hung out and watched a good ole' baseball game. Adly was disappointed that she didn't get to give Spike a high five. She saw him one time and then he was gone. She said "He must be fweeping in his nigh-night bed." We'll go back and make sure he's awake!!

Grilling w/ Davey...

Holt LOVES his Davey. It's a new obsession. He wants to do every and anything Davey does. So, when Davey grills at our house, Holt is right there "helping" him; fake food, tongs and all. It is sooo cute! Adly helped out this time...

inspiration...

I found this perfect poem (some of you may not know, I LOVE poetry) and had to share it w/ all my mom friends. It's so sweet...it's how I try so hard to parent, but struggle w/ daily. It's a balance you try to keep and sometimes knowing which part of your life to put on hold in the chaos of the day is so difficult...but reading this makes it so very clear. I printed this out and taped it in my journal that I write in about my kids. It gives me goosebumps every time I read it. Read and be inspired...

Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo
The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullabye, rockaby lullabye loo.

The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
But children grow up as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Chuck E. Cheese & cousins

Adly wanted to give Chuck E. a high five sooo bad! She was so happy!

What a fun time we always have w/ Parker and Hudson (Julie too). We met them at Chuck E., played lots of games, ate pizza and played some more. They all had a blast. Holt loves to feel like a big boy w/ his cousins. We love you P & H!!!!

Double Duty!!!!

My "baby" cousin, Becky (the one on the right), is having TWINS!! I'm a little shocked & excited all at the same time. She's actually not a baby...happily married woman, but she's a baby to me. I just can't believe it...what a blessing they'll be. This will be the last cousins' Christmas w/ only 2 kids (mine)...next year there will be at least one set of twins and who knows what else added to the mix!!
Congrats, Beck...we love you & can't wait to see you grow....WAY bigger than I ever did!!! :)
